Barbola, the melancholic spinster sighs to herself every evening before going to bed:” I wish I had a baby, even if he was as small as my thumb!” Her prayers are listened, because a small fellow, Tom Thumb arrives. Although the lad is tiny, he is really strong-headed and energetic. His mother jumps to fulfil every wish of his, and Tom turns the whole house upside down, and even chases away Tihamér, the cat. One day, however, a dark figure lures Tom from home by promising him to help him transform into a „normal-size” child, thereby Panna, the girl next door will find him more attractive.
And this is how Tom’s adventurous journey around the world begins …
